LAURIE MICHELLE (vocals/bandleader)
Laurie Michelle is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist & songwriter based in the Denver area. Originally trained as a classical violinist, she found her stride as a vocalist while studying music at The University of Utah. She was a regular at the local jazz & blues jams, and performed as a vocalist & violinist with various bands in Salt Lake City for several years before developing her solo acoustic singer-songwriter show.
After moving to Colorado in Spring 2022, Laurie Michelle made her presence known in the live music scene immediately - not just as an active solo performer but also as an engaged community builder. She currently organizes her own event "The Monthly Songwriter Showcase" featuring local Colorado songwriters & artist vendors (now in its fourth 6-month residency at The Dairy Arts Center in Boulder), as well as organizing & hosting "The Third Friday Open Mic at Lady Justice Brewing" in Englewood.
Laurie launched Jasper Silver Band in February 2024, bringing to life a longtime dream of singing fresh interpretations of Jazz, Blues & Funk - as well as writing original music drawing on all genres. Five months after launching, Jasper Silver Band made their debut at the iconic Dazzle in The Denver Performing Arts Complex.
She has a private teaching studio where she offers lessons on violin, viola, piano, acoustic guitar, ukulele, piano, singing & songwriting.
Laurie released a 4-song acoustic indie EP "For The Heartbroken" in 2022 and a blues-rock single "Adelaide" in 2023.
